School Councils play a vital role in Victorian government schools and are established and operate under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic), the Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017 (Vic) and a constituting Order. Meetings will be held in 2026 on 16th March, 4th May, 1st June, 287h July, 7th September, 26th October, 7th December and 15th February 2027.

School councils play a key role in Victorian government schools and being a member of the school council is a rewarding and challenging experience. Acting as a team, school council supports the principal to provide the best possible educational outcomes for students. A well informed and effective school council strengthens community confidence in the school and helps to protect and build the school’s reputation.
