Concord School Achieves SWPBS Blue Award

Concord School is proud to have achieved the SWPBS Blue Award, recognising our commitment to creating a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff, students, and school community in embedding School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support practices across the school. The Blue Award acknowledges schools that have successfully implemented evidence-based systems and practices that promote positive behaviour, student wellbeing, and engagement. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and remain committed to continually strengthening our positive school culture to support the success of every student.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) at Concord

At Concord School we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive and predictable learning environment where positive behaviour is explicitly taught, modelled and celebrated. Our SWPBS framework is one of the key ways we bring this commitment to life.
Our work aligns strongly with our school values:

Grow – We empower every student to develop socially, emotionally, and academically through clear expectations, consistent support, and targeted interventions.

Connect – We nurture strong relationships and a shared language around behaviour, helping students feel connected to one another, to staff, and to their learning.

Belong – We aim for every student to feel safe, respected, and valued within our school community, reinforcing a sense of belonging in all areas of school life.

These values are reflected in our SWPBS Mission Statement:

“At Concord School, we foster a safe, inclusive and predictable learning environment where positive behaviour is taught, modelled and celebrated. We aim for every student to feel a sense of belonging that connects them with others and their learning. Using evidence-based practices and a culture of kindness and responsibility, we empower students to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Together with our community, we nurture lifelong learning and help everyone thrive.”

Our SWPBS refresh in 2025 built directly from these values and our mission.

Our Behaviour Expectations

Our four whole-school behaviour expectations:

Be Safe

Be Respectful

Be Responsible

Be a Learner

These expectations provide the foundation for supporting student behaviour and building a positive school culture.

Behaviour Matrix: Expectations in Action

The Behaviour Matrix provides consistency across the school and helps students learn exactly what it means to be safe, respectful, responsible, and a learner in every context.
